Our Commitment: Maintaining the highest standards for Health, Safety and Environment
Gentium is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for employees, and to preserving and protecting the environment.
Health, safety and environmental matters are handled in Gentium with the same sense of responsibility as issues concerning quality and cost-efficiency.
Furthermore, all employees are personally responsible for health, safety and environment aspects in the workplace to the full extent required by their duties, and to the best of their knowledge, ability and experience.
Health and Safety
Health and Safety are key issues for Gentium, which aims to avoid accidents and occupational diseases, and to promote health and well-being for all employees.
Safety and protection of health are therefore an integral part of every employee's function, and are achieved through proper risk evaluation, education and training of employees, use of appropriate personal protective equipment, and compliance with relevant national and international Health & Safety Directives.
Careful use of resources with minimal environmental impact are key factors for pursuing Sustainable Development.
According to its Environmental Policy, Gentium continuously strives to reduce its consumption of materials and energy, and to cut the quantities of waste and emissions it generates, for example by strictly separating and recycling where possible, and correctly disposing of all toxic, hazardous and biological waste.
Therefore, Gentium Management appreciates the importance of implementing, maintaining and documenting an Environmental Management System in accordance with the International Standard UNI EN ISO 14001 and EMAS Regulation.
Gentium, as EMAS Registered Organization, has published its Environmental Statement.
"Sustainability, ensuring the future of life on Earth, is an infinite game, the endless expression of generosity on behalf of all."
